Trezentos intelectuais (entre eles Wallerstein, Chomsky, Zizek, Toni Negri,
Giorgio Agamben e Tarik Ali) comprometem-se a apoiar novo governo grego na luta
contra ditadura financeira

“Uma vitória do Syriza nas próxima eleições gregas é um assunto da maior
importância para quem quer mudar a Europa e o seu rumo. Essa vitória seria uma
expressão da necessidade de dignidade e justiça. As ameaças e a pressão por
parte dos líderes da União Europeia, da Troika [constituída pelo Banco Central
Europeu, Fundo Monetário Internacional e Comissão Europeia] e dos círculos
financeiros para influenciar o movimento social e as escolhas do eleitorado
grego são inaceitáveis.
“Em toda a Europa, defenderemos o direito do povo grego de tomar as suas
decisões livremente; de romper com a ‘austeridade'; de dizer ‘não’ à crise
humanitária que atormenta o país; de construir um caminho próprio para uma
mudança democrática e social e para uma nova perspectiva para a Grécia.
“Enquanto a maioria das forças políticas na Grécia escolheu curvar-se
perante a Troika, o Syriza e Alexis Tsipras – tendo decidido o contrário –
conseguiu criar, em estreita cooperação com vários movimentos sociais, uma
coligação ampliada; uma dinâmica que poderá garantir uma maioria. A sua
proposta é enfrentar de imediato a crise humanitária, restaurar os acordos
coletivos e a legislação do trabalho, criar um sistema tributário justo e
democratizar o sistema político. Um futuro governo do Syriza quer fazer da
Grécia um ator credível e ter como precondição de qualquer negociação a
sobrevivência do país e do seu povo. O Syriza quer um novo rumo, um país livre
de corrupção e clientelismo, optando por um novo tipo de desenvolvimento em
benefício da maioria da sua população. Proporá uma Conferência Europeia da
Dívida no sentido de cancelar uma parte de seus débitos e definir, para o
restante, modalidades de pagamento que facilitem a recuperação econômica
através de um programa de investimento público (que não seria incluído no Pacto
de Estabilidade e Crescimento). No plano europeu, este Governo irá propôr
um “Novo Acordo Europeu” para o desenvolvimento humano e de transição
ambiental. Precisamos de romper com a ideia que está destruindo o coletivo
europeu e permitindo uma perigosa influência do populismo nacionalista e de
extrema-direita. Precisamos de um novo projeto de desenvolvimento inclusivo,
baseado em cooperação e democracia.
“Por toda a Europa, acreditamos que a mudança na Grécia não diz
respeito apenas ao futuro do povo grego. Uma vitória do Syriza permitirá à
Grécia sair da presente situação de catástrofe, mas representará também um
início de mudança na Europa. Romper com as políticas de ‘austeridade’ das
instituições europeias será um sinal, uma fonte de esperança para quem quer
dignidade. Ao mesmo tempo, o futuro governo grego necessitará de um apoio
maciço por parte dos povos europeus para fazer face às pressões dos mercados
financeiros e das forças políticas que receiam qualquer renúncia ao quadro
obsoleto da globalização capitalista.
Ativistas políticos, sociais, sindicais, comunitários; intelectuais,
investigadores, artistas, mulheres e homens da cultura: nós não aceitamos as
forças de pressão que procuram impedir o povo grego de exercer a sua escolha
livre. Quem exerce essa pressão perpetua estruturas de poder justamente
criticadas e a atual ‘terapia de choque’.
Por toda a Europa, assumiremos as nossas responsabilidades: apoiar quem
luta, mudar a relação de forças, fazer a batalha de ideias e unir os que querem
construir – ao lado do povo grego – uma Europa social, ambiental e democrática.

a sua luta é a nossa também.
